NP3

NP3 is a self lubricating finish consisting of electroless nickel permeated with Teflon. It has excellent corrosion protection and wear resistance. It is a medium to dark pewter gray color. Even though it is self lubricating I advise using a good quality firearm lubricant on high friction areas such as slide rails. Springs are not plated with NP3 and I advise against plating barrels such as 1911's and SIGs. On the Beretta 92/96 family and similar guns I would plate the barrel.
